TOY features at the Italian national Early Childhood Education conference

The National Body for Childcare and Early Childhood in Italy held their 20th Annual Conference from 26 to 28 February in Milan. The theme of the conference was “Curriculum is responsibility”, because for the first time ever Italy has a national curriculum framework for 0 to 6.

The TOY partner in Italy, ReteSalute, was invited to present the TOY approach at this important conference.  The project manager, Flavio Donina, shared with the participants the good practice examples from the TOY pilot actions in Lecco, Paderno and Rome.

A new understanding of ‘curriculum’ was discussed at the conference, which includes attention to learning from relationships, establishing connections and documenting experience and guiding it with professional development. All of this topics are also emphasized in the TOY approach.

The conference received a lot of attention in the Italian national press.
