Our Irish TOY colleagues, Anne Fitzpatrick, Carmel Gallagher and Ashling Silke are leading a symposium about the experiences of TOY in Ireland at the Annual EECERA conference, which begins today in Dublin and continues until Saturday. EECERA is the largest early childhood research conference in Europe. The TOY Symposium will take place on Friday afternoon, 2nd September at 14.30.
Here below you can download the abstracts for the TOY symposium which is titled: Reweawing the tapestry of the generations: Intergenerational learning involving young children and older people in Ireland (pp. 208-209).
The symposium will examine the key learning and the question of the sustainability of IG initiatives in early years and older people’s settings in Ireland. Specifically, it will consider what contributes to successfully embedding IG practice in these settings. A case study of innovative IG practices emanating from a
pre-school in a small Irish town will be presented.
