New model of childcare, education and senior day care for workplaces in Germany
November 18, 2024 |
Porto Dome, based in Germany is launching a six-month feasibility study to test an integrated model of childcare, education, and senior day programs within workplaces. The goal is to support employees in balancing caregiving and careers while fostering intergenerational connections and well-being. This study will set the stage for a future pilot project that brings the Porto Dome vision to life. TOY is delighted to be partnering in this innovative project.
Why This Matters:
- Demographic Shifts: Europe’s senior population is growing rapidly, while the working-age population is shrinking. Porto Dome offers a solution by integrating senior day programs and childcare into workplaces, allowing families to thrive.
- Business Impact: Companies across Europe lose €19 billion annually due to absenteeism linked to caregiving. Porto Dome helps businesses retain talent and improve productivity through comprehensive family support.
- Hybrid Work: With 80% of companies embracing hybrid work, Porto Dome’s flexible care model aligns perfectly, offering accessible care for children and older adults, all under one roof.
Porto Dome’s Integrated Model:
- On-Site Childcare and Education: Engaging, educational spaces for children aged 0-6, with after-school care for older children up to 12.
- Day Programs for Seniors: Social, learning-focused day programs for older adults, with transport services to ensure accessibility.
How Companies Can Get Involved: Porto Dome are seeking innovative companies to partner with them in this feasibility study. This is an opportunity to shape a groundbreaking model that supports both family well-being and business success.
